Underneath this panel is the battery compartment. You will need 2 CR2032 batteries. Open this compartment and replace the batteries with the + side facing down. If you have a Flex Neck Tech (Soft Touch) or USB Flex Neck, you can use a coin to rotate the battery compartment open. These batteries will have the + facing up. Replace the cover.

Pocket Magnifier and Light?
You will need a small Phillips head screwdriver like one you would find in a glasses repair kit. With your pocket magnifier laying flat with the LED bulb facing up, pull the magnifier from the top and bottom to reveal the silver/grey middle section. You should see a panel with one screw. Underneath this panel is the battery compartment. You will need 2 CR1130 batteries. Open this compartment and replace the batteries with the + on the left and the - on the right. Replace the cover.

Rimless Lighted Magnifier?

LightWedge Mini?
Hold your Mini so that the power button is facing the floor and the clear section is facing you. With your thumbs, slide the plastic handle away from yourself. The battery compartment is inside of the handle. You will need 2 CR2016 batteries. The positive side will face up.

Spike Light?
Hold your Spike Light by the base where you attach it to your book. You will see 3 separate pieces: the top where the light stems from, a thin section where the “spike” is attached and the bottom cylinder where the battery is located. Hold the top two sections stationary as you turn the bottom section clockwise. The battery compartment should easily open. If it turns and does not open, then recheck that you are holding the top two sections stationary. You will need one AAA battery. The positive side of the battery will face up.

Folding Lighted Magnifier?
Hold your Folding Lighted Magnifier with the LED light facing up and the handle facing towards you. The battery compartment is inside of the handle. You will see an arrow and the words OPEN. Slide the handle towards yourself (in the direction of the arrow). You will need 2 AAA batteries.

You will need 2 CR2450 batteries. The + will face up.

High Powered Magnifier?
On the back of the magnifier (where the LED light is) you will see a tiny tab directly beneath the "Great Point Light" logo. If you pull the tab town towards the bottom of the magnifier's handle, the battery compartment on the front of the magnifier (the side without the LED) will open. You will need 2 AA batteries.

LightWedge Questions:

The light from my LightWedge is not bright enough. Is there something I can do?
Check the battery orientation. All four batteries should be running the same direction in the LightWedge, according to the diagram in the instruction booklet and the diagrams on the inside of the unit. Unlike many products, the LightWedge will light if one of the four batteries is set in the wrong direction, but the light will be very dim. Four new AAA batteries oriented correctly will provide plenty of brightness for nighttime reading in a dark room.

My LightWedge has a scratch on the lens. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
The LightWedge is made of the same optical grade acrylic as a pair of glasses. Light scratches are inevitable and should not affect the product's usability.

What is the best way to clean/care for my LightWedge?
Take care of your LightWedge as you would any other quality optical equipment, such as eyeglasses. We recommend that you remove any large particles first and then lightly buff the lens with a soft, micro-fiber cloth and lens cleaner, such as our LightWedge Lens Care Kit, when it appears dirty. Storing your LightWedge in a closed book, or a LightWedge Soft Case with a micro fiber lining, is also a great way to protect the lens from scratches and dust.

What is the best way to protect my LightWedge product from scratches?
The optimal way to store your LightWedge is in the LightWedge Soft Case. The Soft Case is made from padded rubber and lined with a micro fiber polishing cloth. The LightWedge can also safely be stored in the book you are reading.

There is a concentric circle pattern in the light around the two LEDs in my LightWedge. Is this normal?
You will find a concentric circle pattern to a very small degree in every LightWedge. The pattern should not be distinct enough to be visually distracting.

What type of batteries do the LightWedge products take?
The LightWedge Original, Paperback, and Night Vision each use four AAA batteries that will provide up to forty hours of light. We do not recommend using rechargeable batteries as they tend to be wider than the battery compartment. The LightWedge Mini uses two CR2016 batteries that will provide up to twenty hours of light.

How can I replace the battery cover panel on my LightWedge?
If the battery cover panel is broken contact us for a replacement part. Please let us know if your product says 'Made in China' or 'Made in Mexico' when requesting a new battery cover panel.

What size book does the LightWedge work with?
LightWedge Original is designed to be used with all common hardcover and "trade" paperbacks. However, it will also work for "mass market" paperbacks (the small, rack-size format), maps, and other reading materials. The LightWedge Paperback is designed specifically for these smaller mass-market paperbacks. It is perfect for travelers as it conveniently packs into small spaces.
